The Story of Edgar Sawtelle, by David Wroblewski
By Toria Burrell, 2/20/09Amazing writing. For someone who isn't a "dog person", I was deeply moved by the portrayal of these dogs, and found myself caring for them every bit as much as the human characters.
I was impressed by the beautiful crafting of this novel. I did not realize (while reading it) that it was a re-telling of Shakespeare's "Hamlet", but was not surprised to find out, considering how deeply haunting, inspiring, beautiful, and gorgeously crafted a tragedy it was.
