Two opportunities are coming up, to hear yours truly singing with the Chicago Chamber Choir - and the Evanston Symphony Orchestra!
Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 7:30pm St. Matthias Church, 2310 W. Ainslie Street, Chicago
Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 3:00pm Our Lady of the Brook Parish, 3700 Dundee Road, Northbrook
Please join me for Songs of Fire & Light, the fourth and final concert in the CCC's popular Singing the Elements program. Fire and light form the inspiration for this evocative and compelling program about life, love, and loss. The concert will feature the beautiful and rarely performed "Lux Aeterna" by Morten Lauridsen. Madrigals, contemporary works, and spirituals round out this radiant program, including the music of Josquin des Prez, Charles Wood, Eric Whitacre, and Moses Hogan.
This is truly a sublime set of music, and once again, I'm honored to be performing with this highly professional, top quality choir. The "Lux Aeterna" is full of heart-rending harmonies, and singing it is a spiritually moving experience. I hope the audience will find it transporting.
