Book Review: - Her Fearful Symmetry, by Audrey Niffenegger

Her Fearful Symmetry, by Audrey Niffenegger

By Toria Burrell, 11/2/10

A very enjoyable, quick read! I love Audrey Niffenegger's sharp, pithy writing. I became a big fan of hers after the Time Traveler's Wife.

I particularly like the themes and settings, especially the American vs. British theme. There are American characters moving to London, observing and adjusting to English culture, and vice versa. The observations of both cultures are very accurate.

I also love Martin, the character with extreme OCD! Very poignant but funny too. Niffenegger creates incredibly realistic, sympathetic characters that you care about immediately. And I like that she uses different view point characters in each chapter, creating different perspectives.

I also love the supernatural element, and Niffenegger creates this with exquisite realism.
